No composer has done more to bring the full scope and beauty of symphonic music to film than John Williams. From Star Wars to Jaws, Williams’s music brings to life the whole range of human emotions and experiences that embody the human spirit. Williams’s creative power will be on full display in this wide-ranging program that will include music from Star Wars, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Jaws, Harry Potter, E.T., and many more. With more than 100 film scores to his credit, as well as dozens of concerts, symphonic works and chamber music pieces, John Williams is one of the most prolific and sought-after composers of his generation. He has won five Oscars and received 50 Academy Award nominations, the most earned by any living person in all categories. Williams has also received three Emmy Awards and more than 20 Grammy Awards. He was a Kennedy Center honoree in 2004 and was awarded a National Medal of Arts in 2009.
